Making Your Thursday Routine Your Reset Day

Here’s the logic… we’ve always used Sundays as a day to get ready for the week ahead and wrap up the weekend. But what about the day to wrap up the week and start the weekend? It sure as heck isn’t Friday.

Fridays are filled with plans, Jummah prayer, FOMO, and also leaves you exhausted for Saturday. Before you know it, you’re back to starting the week all over again.

Try this — use Thursdays as your reset and prep days. Why? Let’s start here…

It splits your week into 3-ish day sprints

  • Thursday evening prep, leaves you with Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

  • Sunday prep, leaves you with Mon, Tues, Wed.

  • This gives you 3-ish days between your prep and reset days, keeping a balanced and refreshed week without completely “living for the weekend”.

  • It prepares you for a beautiful and blessed Friday

Use your Thursdays for the ‘everything shower’.

Technically, Friday — or jummah — starts on the evening (at Maghrib, sunset) of Thursday. Plan your “everything shower” and nightly routines to happen on Thursday evening, so you wake up fresh and ready for Friday. (Doesn’t mean you don’t have to shower on Friday hehe, but just don’t need to do the whole 9-yards the morning of) .

Thursday Reset, Rest, Recover

Use Thursday evenings to listen or read Surah Al-Kahf — Allah will shower light on our face that will last until the next two Fridays — and use it as a wind-down evening to reconnect with yourself, journal, and plan for the weekend ahead. This helps make your weekends feel more intentional, organized and fulfilling.
